In Mangaluru’s hilly terrain, sits a 6,534 sq.ft. plot that an architect Sachin Shetty from Int-Hab Architecture+Design (@intuitive_habitat) wishes to share with his and his sister’s family, and connect to his roots. The architect decides to split the plot into two different homes. While the two homes share similar principles, they accommodate very distinct design typologies, that Buildofy is privileged to document through this film. This is how the Kannada term ‘Jodi Mane’ is coined, translating to ‘pair of homes’. Head to the link in the bio to watch the full video and download the PDF eBook with detailed floor plans, images, and info on materials used. The first is a compact home resulting from the architect’s lifelong dream to live in one, as well as his parent’s minimal needs and conditions. A bright lightweight central staircase that ties the unit together is a major highlight of this home, along with indoor fenestrations. The second is a luxury home resulting from the sister’s family requirements as well as additional recreational programs. The additional trapezoidal space available on-site fits the living room, library, and gym on each floor. The usage of materials and the large library space overlooking the context are some highlights of this home. Buildofy proudly presents this film and invites you to the website, where you can access extended chapters of particular spaces of this home. Architectural Journalist: Ar.
