This wasn’t a straightforward layout handed to us. The space came with its own quirks - angles that didn’t align neatly, transitions that needed rethinking, and an irregular footprint that could easily have felt restrictive. Instead, it became the starting point of the story.

The design here leans into that reality. The checkerboard flooring anchors the space with a timeless rhythm, instantly familiar, while clean cabinetry and refined finishes keep the kitchen feeling current and calm. Despite the irregular shape, the kitchen is organised around clear zoning - distinct areas for cooking, washing, prep, and storage - allowing movement to feel intuitive rather than forced.
