This mandir sits inside an 11,000 sq ft classical-inspired home in Goa. We’ve designed quite a few mandirs over the years, but what always makes them special is when the space reflects the people living in the home.

For this one, the brief from our clients was very clear. They wanted to feel completely transported when they entered the mandir.

• So we worked closely with @gracious.matheus to hand-paint murals based on themes that meant something to our clients personally.

• We also added all the 3D detailing because they wanted the walls to have more depth and texture, rather than everything feeling flat.

• The rose quartz behind the mandir was added to tie together some of the softer colours, and because the house already has a lot of classical detailing throughout, we had to constantly balance how much detail to add and where to stop.

• Even the storage here was planned around everyday rituals, so everything they need stays close by but tucked away.
